Pacific Hills youth and families held a “Summer of Service” in 2026. With a large number of youth in the congregation, the CYF board encouraged youth and their families to participate in missional service projects throughout the summer.
To kick off the season, nine youth and adults visited Scatter Joy Acres on May 29 to help on the farm. They dug a drainage channel from the horse barn to a nearby creek. After the work was done, the volunteers were able to explore the farm and visit the animals.
The Storck Family visited Heartland Hope Mission on July 31 to help set up its back-to-school event, setting up tables and sorting clothes and shoes. Besides backpacks and school supplies, kids receive a full set of clothes and a pair of shoes at this event; they were expecting more than 300 families.
Other families volunteered in the community throughout the summer. The McCoy family placed flags for veterans at Westlawn Cemetery in late May. Eliana Vogel volunteered at a VBS.
We encourage everyone to participate in some way, in whatever way they are able. This could be picking up trash in your neighborhood, giving a ride to someone who needs transportation, volunteering at a food bank, or whatever else the Lord puts on your heart. We can all find ways to help others in the name of Jesus, throughout the year.
